About
The pain and sadness are too great, and the time has arrived to seek some unbiased help.
The few friends you’ve confided in so far have listened every time, but they have suggested that you seek therapy.
With every ounce of courage, you’ve clicked on the buttons that have brought you to this time and place only to discover that you must make an appointment with some strange therapist you don’t know.
Seeking therapy is not for a coward!
UUUUGGGGHHH!!!! Baring one’s soul and airing “dirty laundry” is not for the faint-hearted or weak-kneed. Confidentiality is crucial for the development of a trusting, therapeutic relationship where understanding, growth, and life-changing choices are discovered and made.
If there was only an APP that you could just listen to that would guide you to the peace and contentment you so desperately want. Therapy is not a quick fix, but it is a commitment to yourself, for yourself, and for your loved ones.
You didn’t arrive at this point overnight, and a high degree of patience is needed to move forward and complete your journey into peace and contentment.

Ever wonder what all those letters mean that follow a therapist’s name? They’re meant to convey credibility and instill confidence in your choice of therapist. Those letters tell a little about the therapist’s training and experience – if you know how to interpret them.
Here’s the breakdown and interpretation of where I’ve been in my life that has brought me to offer my services to you today. PsyD simply means a doctorate in psychology. Our work together is grounded in psychology with space allowed for spiritual concerns, questions, and hurts as the (MDiv) Master of Divinity and (SD) Certified Spiritual Director letters show.
There’s another set of letters I used once-upon-a-time that are important to our work together, but you won’t see them listed after my name: MT(AMT;HHS).
Psychology is a second career for me; my first work life was a “lab rat,” Medical Technologist. My first career was spent in clinical and hospital laboratories running lab tests on blood and body fluids. Clients can be sure their physical and medical health will be part of our sessions and strategies on their journey to wholeness.
On a personal note, I bring all my life and experience into our sessions. My husband and I enjoy watching our grandchildren in all their various activities (like softball, baseball, piano recitals) and any time spent with family and friends.
Camping has become an important activity for my husband and me. We use the time to reconnect with each other after caring for our parents, maintaining busy work lives, participating and supporting our community, and living each day as fully as possible.
LOGO
The chrysalis, often called a cocoon, is that space created by the caterpillar where miraculous change takes place.
The black lines of our logo represent the chrysalis, and they also represent the boundaries of our lives. We all need boundaries throughout our lives for growth, health, and happiness. The space in-between the black lines represents the space inside our lives, our hearts, our minds, and our souls where the change occurs.
The wings of our butterfly logo are open and inviting the change. Notice there are places on the sides that are open, too, where changes might enter our lives unexpectedly. Sometimes the changes we make in our lives comes at us from unexpected directions: our left or right.
My work with clients is a process that in many ways resembles the process a caterpillar undergoes to emerge as a changed creature. The core of the caterpillar remains, but the butterfly has wings that lift it into an entirely new way of being in the world.
We assist people in defining and setting boundaries for themselves and their family, friends, and acquaintances where those lines may have become blurry or may not have ever been defined.
We create space where individuals, couples, and families can transform themselves and in turn their relationships into a new way of being in this world.
